It's all about the machine that was behind Em. Guys like Paul Wall should've been doing numbers like Em, or at least somewhat decent numbers. Em tried it with Yelawolf but after that confederate flag shyt happened it turned off a lot of people and i don't blame them. He then tried to back peddle defending that flag.

no.

Paul wall was never culturally sound.
thus was never as skilled as EMINEM.

you will never see another skilled culturally sound adult white emcee like Eminem ever again.

any critique of EMINEM is before he was culturally endorsed.

any backlash or naysayers is from adults who still are not culturally committed.
thus will never get the cultural based endorsement.
em earned by showing and proving as a culturally sound adult as well.

Eminem learned his lesson also self equating.
thinking every white person who rapped was an actual real cultural based emcee. Which is a lesson most people learned whom were not black in the prison industrial marketed era as well.

after that, I would hope EMINEM understands the culture on a level to know the rasta PRINCIPAL you are always alone applies to him.

only other WHITE cat I know other than em on real bitness wholeheartedly. Culturally all around and skill in the pillars is mike treece. The rest of them are up for survey.

what’s the difference between this bs & Eminem

charisma ?

skill ?

“street cred” ?

being associated with dre & 50’s ?

Why can’t these type of rappers do numbers like him ?

this guys is offkey and outdated.
inckuding has no hardcore bboy ill factor bar to bar whatsoever.

if you can not tell the difference between EMINEM and this.
then you are the problem.

do not say different because i know you do not rate records well.
where this thread is indicative of that.
plus i happen to be the living embodiment of that better.
to know and lived different to tell you,...
you do not know wtf you talembout.
well enough to troll.
at this time.
it is obvious you nikkaz not committed to the real culture of hip hop at all.

so why do you keep trying to get this look.
you do not care about.

oh I know,...
simply because all the other shyt is wack.
yet you will not commit and till you do.
you will always all be wack.

I think the average rap fan, even those who don't like Eminem would agree that he's a more interesting or talented artist than NF. Its an odd comparison, in that the main thing they have in common is white ancestry, not much in the way of musical similarity.

You could just as easily say why doesn't Joell Ortiz sell more than Drake. Just because things are the way they are. There's a whole bunch of complicated social/cultural factors that make one artist more popular than another.

And even if you levelled the playing field... actually I don't think its possible unless you were able to change human nature and control every aspect of life. Some things are probably always going to have more mass appeal than others just based on the way peoples brains work. You can say music taste is subjective all day but at the end of the day we're responding to the same physical input in a very similar way to each other. I mean the algorithm that gives me youtube recommendations actually does a better job of finding me music I like than I could before that.

Paul Wall can rap though, Em is skilled no doubt about it it's just the praise he gets is a little too much at times.

Stop.

Notice your verbiage.
you said Paul wall can rap.
you never said PAUL wall was an actual culture skilled based emcee.
that is the difference.
you do not know the difference.
so again,...till you culturally do in full.
you need to keep shut till you do.

Good day sir.

It's not about taking away from cool dudes like Paul, Em is just at least a tier above the other white rappers, save R.A. He's just a higher skilled rapper.

That's why i said Em is more skilled, cause he's a lyrical cat. I've been listening to this joint from Em recently and this is the type of music he should be making at this point of his career.

no.

you are missing that em is a culture based principal emcee.

Paul wall is a voice over artist and not at all about anything cultural dealing with hiphop. Besides the rap industry being the last profit based business. derived from the cultural pillars of hip hop left.

Eminem came out when the only big white rapper was vanilla ice, besides a few there were NO white rappers
He was cosigned by Dre, Dre already built up a repertoire with Death Row, Snoop and N.W.A. he was cold and people were waiting what he would do next, without Em he wouldn't have lasted into the new millineum.
When came out with the cosign, catchy single and his lyrical content and the fact he was white, he became white people's god in hip hop. There are people who hate rap but listen to eminem, 11/10 they are white.
Eminem (despite being overrated or garbarge on this forum) actually has talent, I have yet to see another eminem from any race.

Eminem was not the first major hip hop artist: Beastie Boyz & Vanilla Ice preceded him

I grew up on Eminem cuz I was like 10 when he came into the scene an he was funny and dope and being from Jamaica Queens I still supported him cuz of the 50 link

In hindsight, he was dope on the mic, resonated with rebellious suburban white boys, had mass appeal and sold a shyt ton of music. He still tops billboard whenever he drops an album and he's been 20+ years in the game.

A lot of black people was fukkin with his music in the early 00s cuz of the shock factor and the Dre cosign and then him bringin 50 into the mainstream

His peers rate him highly as well, I give him his props even tho I dont fukk with his music anymore, he's changed the game

:yeshrug:

These new white boys not as respected as him on the mic and they don't have his mass appeal, I mean his level of fame is hard to achieve for any rapper black or white, only 50, Kanye, maybe Lil Wayne and Drake have been able to achieve the same success
