Yeah but wood bats are heavier. Wouldn't something heavier drive something further? I'm with you with it coming off the bat faster. I just think wood due to being heavier generates more power.

aluminum is far more elastic. balls bounce off that biitch and lose less energy on collision.
therefore the mass of the bat just isnt that relevant, plus the velocity component contributes far more to velocity of center of mass after the collision...
