For me to be mad at Drake would be hypocritical. As I've described Patois being used casually is the norm to me.
You don't need to stop hating Drake but just learn a little that not everything works in the world the way you're used to.

And also, already confirmed Drake has been on the carribean wave his whole career.

I agree. People need to get cultured more. shyt dudes from Brooklyn and jersey who aren't Jamaican will fukk around and use patois in convo. shyt they do the same with Spanish dialects

I am Jamaican bred, Both mom and dad are Jamaican. I've seen white people appropriate certain things in our culture overtime. I was a drake fan since so far gone... Well it's crazy cause in Toronto jamaican slang is the cool trendy then amongst the yuth :skip:

When I'm there I hear whites, asians, even East African using the slang but claiming it's a "Toronto thing" like its unique to the city and part of a culture mix but I always looked at it funny :patrice:

But things are different in Canada :manny:

I guess that's just how drake was brought up but it's funny how he's really embracing the culture now when it's hot and back when the south was hot he was on that wave.

Let's just say drake has a multitude of influences being half black/half Jewish half American half Canadian and etc....

And Just to be fair I admit AA rappers do borrow some West Indian/Caribbean slang and even Spanish slang from time to time....

I got fam in Toronto ('sauga, Scarborough, Brampton). Yea there's caribbean influence in the slang there but nowhere to the level of Toronto being "just like" London :stopitslime: so I don't buy that reasoning for Drake's vulturing. What makes knish-man Drake so damn goofy is that when he appropriates culture is that he tries so hard (which in a sense I guess is admirable?) that he just comes off looking and sounding like a caricature of what he's vulturing:snoop: Even with his latest roadman wave, I don't think real roadmen even wear THAT much stoney:huhldup:

This video is a lie. Toronto guys use words like "mandem" and all that shyt but we dont run around trying to have some sort of fake Jamaican patois accent like what Drake is doing. Plus Forest Hills is all rich white people and he just started to hang around those repz up guys about eight years ago so where does his Jamaican accent come from ?
