I'm not surprised by this at all, because to be blunt, if I were the ruler of a landlocked nation, and it was worth the risk, I would attempt to take over a smaller neighboring country that has access to the sea as well.

I knew a grip of Ethiopians living in Djibouti because of the conflict. You know you’re down bad when you move to Djibouti.
No disrespect to the country of Djibouti, but we would see people on khat walking down the street butt naked and openly defecating. Unemployment is over 25%.

Ethiopia has had civil wars every single decade for the last 100+ years because it is a fake nation stitched together by Europeans. A lot of people aren't ready for that truth. It is a nation whose chief role is to destabilize the Horn of Africa.
1/3 of Ethiopia is Somali territory. Cacs gave them that land because they knew it would cause wars between Somalia and Ethiopia similar to Kashmir (India v Pakistan), lsraeI in the Middle East, and North and South Sudan. Ethiopia also has border disputes with Eritrea and Sudan. It is a cancer in the region.
The current regime in Ethiopia committed a genocide in the Tigray (northern region bordering Eritrea). They are also currently massacring the Oromos and Amhara. Peace will be established in the Horn of Africa when Ethiopia collapses and balkanizes like Yugoslavia or the Soviet Union. There hasn't been peace for the last 100 years because of their obsession with expansionism and control.
