Code Veronica was NOT a foreshadowing to RE4. shyt u had dual weapons in RE3. Code Veronica was slower paced than RE3.
There was no damn dual weapons in RE 3:usure:
And mercenary mode doesn’t count:usure:
Code Veronica was the only game that had dual weaponS up until RE6..

The camera angle is not what turned the series into action games, the gameplay did.

You dont need static camera angles and clunky controls for a game to be scary.

Dead space did the over the shoulder camera and was still scary.

Silent hill has always been scarier that resident evil without using static camera angles and tank controls.

U know what? U right. It wasnt dual weild. But if u was in easy mode that shyt literally STARTED u off with a machine gun. shyt was the first RE game that gave u weapons in abundance. U didnt even have it in Code Veronica the way u have it in Nemesis. shyt was weapons galore depending on how u played. U cant blame Code Veronica. A significantly slower paced RE game for the games going action when the game before it is more action oriented.

RE4 wasnt as scary as REmake, but it had its moments, it wasn't an action game solely imo. That predator looking thing in the sewers, the first time you run into that blind prisoner with claws, that zombie jumping out of the oven and running at you on the island...

It had nothing to with the camera angle and everything to do with the way the gameplay loop was designed. Resident evil 7 went first person, a far more drastic change than the over the shoulder camera view, and it's more true to the classic resident evil style than the previous 3 games before it.

the evil within 1 was the scariest game I've ever played. i couldnt make it past a fukking courtyard cuz i was running around scared as shyt.

its easily better than RE4-7

Doesnt really matter if the modern camera style can still create tension or horror. Its just not Resident Evil.

A lot of us just want that style. If Mario and Sonic can still make 2D games....if Dragon Quest can still be a turn based RPG, why does Resident Evil have to abandon its roots?

The pre rendered backgrounds from REmake still look amazing today. Similarly if you look at all the old Final Fantasy games from PS1 that used pre rendered backgrounds, they still look good too.

I dont get why not just use the same style with modern tech to make a great game. When we were kids we didnt want the gameplay to change when we got older, we just wanted better graphics.

Look at all these backgrounds and someone tell me why games dont do this anymore? With modern tech these would be even more incredible.
