Why fans wanted Sting vs Taker so bad?

The mystique of their characters. I was against it initially because they were both over the hill and the problem at the time was who should lose but now I would've preferred it to Sting vs HHH match. It would've been smoke and mirrors and the entrances and costumes would've been better than match but we would've gotten better moments out of it and both guys were still in enough shape to pull off their finishers.

Joker Sting as the stalker would’ve been dope but I’ve never had an interest in seeing Biker Taker vs Sting..... has to be Deadman Taker vs Sting

Would have been a dream match in the 90s. Why would anyone want to watch either of these guys wrestle post 2006 is beyond me

Granted Taker was in there with great workers at Mania and Sting in TNA, but they were still kinda wrestling decently into the late 00s/early 10s so I'd been curious
