I personally don't find her stand ups and interviews funny. she's vulgar, trashy and loud, forces the ghetto/loud black woman stereotype too much. You can be funny without playing a character or being over the top. Haven't said all that, her performance in girls trip was great. She should tone her "act" down and stop telling other people's business:yeshrug:

Somewhere tropic...
I don't have any bad feelings toward her. Yet.
I don't think she's crossed any lines.
Get your money.

All yall saying that she gotta turn it down are killing me. She's literally being herself and people got a problem with that. Y'all acting like the Blavity Blacks on Twitter that are "unapologetically Black", yet telling her not to embarass our race

It just seems really funny in the light and it reeks of seeking white validation.

Some of you c00ns hate because she's a reflection of YOU. And not only that she's a reflection of YOU, she's making it because of it while you are not. Just to be all the way real here. Tiffany Haddish have a life experience that is prototypical for many women that came up from South Central has. Comedy is about exploitation of stereotypes based on some type of truth. Her truth is her life experience and therefore she's exploiting it for laughs. This means to exaggerate her character, but it is still a mirror of who she is. Black people HATE to see a reflection of themselves, because it only boasts negative stereotypes that are in part more true than not. Y'all want Tiffany, instead, to be a proper so-called educated woman that pose an image that is NOT who she is nor who y'all are. Y'all feel some kind of way because she doesn't hide from it, but uses it as her ammo in her stand-up. It doesn't make any of you any better, because your lives haven't been all rosy. Each of you went through some type of shyt, because you are BLACK in this racist ass country and you try to maintain the best that you can. But cut shaming those that ARE MAKING IT and living their DREAM successfully without compromising who they are. You are c00nS for telling a black person to BE what she is not. Why the fukk sellout now when being HER is what got her there? Because you are ashamed she's embarrassing you? Get that self-hate out of your bloodstream. Why give a damn about how others make view it. That got nothing to do with you, nor any other black person. Why not FOR ONCE embrace black people in their TOTALITY in their success in hopes we get more to take command and take over? Y'all want to hate on the woman because she's making it on her own terms and being mad humble about it. She never shytted on anyone, not even her peers. Y'all are c00ns for down another black person's success. Point blank.

How do you know that “she’s just being herself”? You don’t know this chic personally to say that. She could be putting on acting way over the top because she’s realized that that’s what’s people want to see from her.

You’re being full of shyt. People have a right to feel embarrassed by her because she’s perpetuating embarrassing stereotypes. The only issue would be is if people start using her ratchet behavior as a deflection to the systematic oppression that ultimately causes that kind of behavior behavior, ala Cosby. Trust tho, nothing pro-black cosigning and perpetuating ignorant shyt which is her whole shtick. She’s the cute hoodratish chic that makes white peopoe feel comfortable and superior. If that’s not a problem for you then just say that.

Using this logic then c00ning is ok. There’s some truth and reality to all of the shucking and jiving that c00ns have done throughout Hollywood history and you could defend every last one of ten with this same stupid ass argument.

I don’t think that it’s hate to call this chic out for who she is and why she’s wig propped up.

she's a one trick pony. she's likable and can be funny when given good material (charmichael show), but it's hard to be entertaining when you're one note. i'd like to see her try something different, like taraji when she stepped outside the ghetto roles in benjamin button and hidden figures, sometimes it's good to "break character".

like i said in another thread, in about 5 years, tiffany haddish is simply going to end up being the gen x jennifer lewis. she will be the go-to black woman for the "loud auntie" role. but as far as disliking her as a person, that's not warranted, but not being a fan of her comedy/the roles she plays, that's valid criticism.

She has a show with Tracy Morgan coming out, and Jordan Peele is the showrunner. She plays it straight in the trailer, so it looks she's at least trying to take on different characters. Show looks like a generic feel-good comedy though, hopefully it's more than that.

I ain’t even know who the hoe was until I watched the Oscars with my girl. At that point I just kept hearing shyt about her. But what I saw of her is just ratchetness. I cringed every time she spoke on that stage. I even literally had to turn around :heh:

But I don’t hate her, just think she’s ratchet and don’t particularly care for her. Shouldn’t be acting a damn ratchet fool when cunducting business :yeshrug:
Not even gonna lie I had to turn off the clip I saw of her at the oscars. I’m all for being yourself but at least have some sense to know where your at l. I’m not even talking about being a “good example” for white people it’s just in general. It’s like she goes out of her way to be ratchet as fukk. Like maya Rudolph was right next to her doing similar shyt but with a way better balance.
