Probably one of the most unique signature moves, if not the most, in basketball history. Kareem devastated opponents for 25 years with it.

Other players have adopted parts if not totally copied other moves like the Dream Shake, the Jordan fadeaway, Dirk's one legged fadeaway, etc.

So why has no other big man tried to use it?

Jonathon Simmons has actually started to adopt a running skyhook as part of his game. Obviously it's a work in progress.

I wonder what the advanced stats are on the skyhook :patrice:

Was it really devestating..

Or was it just a myth like Jordan winning 6 championships making him the goat. :jbhmm:

it aint as easy to learn as you think....that shyt takes years to get....also, with the game being outside to in now, bigs are more concerned with working on their j instead of post moves...
I didn't say it was easy. But, you figure someone would've tried developing it since his retirement almost 30 years ago.

I can see the reasoning behind today's bigs not using it in favor of facing up though.

wasnt implying you said it was easy, just saying that it's a hard shot to master cause of the time you got to put in to learn it....and most cats not trying to do that....

it's more obvious/in vouge now with bigs shooting jumpers, but they have been doing that for a while now....the difference was they had post up moves and would spend most of the time in the post, where as now they dont do/have either like that....
