I never saw or heard Kid Rock in any real hip hop spaces. I never heard him featured on any rappers music. I can’t really speak to how he was received in Detroit tho. Maybe y’all remember more than I do but I never looked at Kid Rock as a rapper or him being any part of the culture whatsoever
We had a season where certain rappers in that era tried to reproduce what Run DMC did with Aerosmith.. So it was nothing more than trying to make money with an artist at that time. For some reason, you have a certain demographic of people who think friends are forever.. For all we know, these nikkas probably haven't talked to kid rock since they took that picture.. So how you call out a person who you haven't fcked with in over a decade?

He got cosigned by Esham in 1990, even rapped on ICPs first album even though Violent J called him a dikk in his autobiography

But he hasn't been relevant in two decades. Rappers back in the late 90s and early 00's should've been pressed dude and NOT Eminem back then because, to be honest, Kid Rock is not doing or saying anything new.
