I don't think he's been involved in some scandal, people of all races love him, music is timeless, why haven't we given him his flowers while he's still alive? Is there something he's done that was swept under the rug? :jbhmm:

Cause you know when he dies the cacs are going to be snooping for something to use to tarnish his legacy.:usure:

He had one in 2015 breh...

but to your point, this is the reason there will never be a biopic about stevie; no drama. you need elements of drama to make a good movie.
No drama? That’s a lie. There doesn’t need to be drugs or anything depressing to have a compelling life story.

He’s been blind since he was 6 weeks old, there’s a lot of drama right there. How can you say watching a poor, Black, and blind kid become a musical genius isn’t compelling? Ray was a great movie even without the sex and drugs subplots.

He was also a child star at one of the greatest record companies of the 20th century. He had an amazing stage mom who even co-wrote a few of his classics. He survived a horrific car crash that nearly cost him his life and inspired one of the greatest albums of his career. He has one of the greatest discographies of all time and the process of creating those works would be very compelling to watch. He’s had several female partners and one of them was a co-writer for a chunk of his career. He seems to have worked with all of the great music legends of the 20th century from MJ to Aretha to Whitney to Paul McCartney and on.

They’re making a biopic about boring ass Celine Dion, they could make one about Stevie.

He does all the tributes anyway. But there is no such thing as giving flowers while somebody is alive. Unfortunately we always wait until it's too late.
Bullshyt. Are we ignoring all of the tributes and lifetime achievement awards that legends got while they were alive? Name one Black legend on Stevie’s level who didn’t get flowers while alive?
:stopitslime:
If you’re talking about punchlines and things like that, that’s irrelevant because the ones that got shyt on for their personal issues in life are still getting shyt on about it in death. That doesn’t mean their talent wasn’t recognized.

Apart from the car crash, where's the valley? I see nothing but peaks from childhood up. He doesn't even fall into the ex-child star rut.

The creative process is...not that compelling. You ever see Graffiti Bridge? You get to see Prince compose one of his songs. :russell:

Why does there need to be a tragic fall for you to be entertained?

He was competitive against a young micheal Jackson and marvin gaye. He had to transition from being a child star to being taken serious a adult, while making his lane.

Which was the early 70's, he created and was one of the leaders of electric funk which alot of other artist would copy an paste after steve brought it out.

He played every instrument too, and wrote hits for others like aretha Franklin's "until you come back to me"

Stevie made three classic albums in a row...3 in a row innervisions, songs in the key of life and the another one either after or before that
