In the case of Noah, when he came into the league Chicago was a chucking ass team. They were at least top 5 in fga but had to be bottom 10 in fg made. Management prolly thought why compound that bullshyt with Noah's ugly ass jumper. Chicago had more than enough shooters when when Noah came in board

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
I want to add Dwayne Wade to the list of players whom imporoved their jumpers from the time they entered the league @klutch2381

Okay, let's look at this.

Wade is a career 28% 3 point shooter, so I don't think it's fair to look at that. He's noted for his mid range game. Let's see what the numbers say:

'03: 10 ft < 16 ft: .30%
16 ft < 3pt: .31%

'04: 10 ft < 16 ft: .37%
16 ft < 3pt: .42%

'05: 10 ft < 16 ft: .38%
16 ft < 3pt: . 41%

'06: 10 ft < 16 ft: .42%
16 ft < 3pt: .37%

'07: 10 ft < 16 ft: .41%
16 ft < 3pt: .37%

'08: 10 ft < 16 ft: .44%
16 ft < 3pt: .42%

'09: 10 ft < 16 ft: .35%
16 ft < 3pt: .36%

'10: 10 ft < 16 ft: .35%
16 ft < 3pt: .40%

'11: 10 ft < 16 ft: .41%
16 ft < 3pt: .33%

'12: 10 ft < 16 ft: .38%
16 ft < 3 pt: .40%

'13: 10 ft < 16 ft: .47%
16 ft < 3 pt: .41%

I averaged out Wades first 3 years for shooting.

For '03, '04, '05 he shot 35% from 10 ft < 16 ft, and he shot 38% from 16 ft < 3pt over the same period. I think 3 years is a good gauge of a player's initial ability to shoot. When I average out the rest of his career (excluding the first 3 for comparison's sake) he shot .45% from 10 ft < 16 ft and 38% from 16 ft < 3pt, which is the same first 3 years of his career average. If I add back in those initial 3 years (just to do so) and average out his entire career, the place where he made the most improvement (10 ft < 16 ft) goes down to .42% for a career average. Basically, most players make incremental improvement as I've mentioned, but going from a bricklayer to a "good" shooter or Petrovich isn't likely at all. MKG is never going to be a good shooter.

I want to do Curry's numbers for a comparison, but I'm tired. #Vamplife :demonic:

Name another 9 that went from horrible shooters to good shooters and I'll give you 50 that stayed horrible. I'm not saying there aren't 10 cases of people who were weak jump shooters and improved greatly: Karl Malone is an example of that. What I'm saying is the list of shooters who who were wack and stayed wack is much longer for a reason. A dude like Tyrus Thomas is an example. It's like people think players can become as good as they want through sheer will power or something. This isn't anime. :pachaha:They are limits to this shyt. Even if you become the best in the world at something there's a limit to how good you can become at it.

And MJ was a decent shooter when he came into the league. He didn't have a 3, though.
What you are saying imo is incorrect. For every 10 who don't fix there shot, I could name 50 who did is more like it.
Its just, the horrible shooters are easier to remember. Dikembe Mutombo had a fugly shot, easy to remember
Shawn Bradley :heh:
But who is gonna remember is Scottie Pippen didn't shoot well and improved his J?
He probably did, but who would remember that?
I agree, not everyone can improve there jumper ENOUGH. And MKG could be an example
But once again, John Wall went from worse than nikkaz I ball with to pretty decent with potential to be GREAT
He also had the same exact problem as Gilchrist now that I think about it

John Wall his first 2yrs.. even a part of year 3 he would hang too long before releasing
