Hip Hop changed, but certainly the quality went down. I mean, why are rappers flooding the streets with mixtape after mixtape every damn month? What happened to the Hip Hop classic that now comes in far and few in between? Why are rappers having 360 deals and make even less money than independent rappers now? You understand what I mean when the money dries up and you left with a generation of trap rappers on youtube, talking about the "good ol days" like Beanie Sigel.

duh...it's a BUSINESS!!!!!!

that so-called CULTURE takes a BACK SEAT when it comes to MAXIMIZING PROFIT and MARKET SHARE.............

YEAH I'LL admit we are SATURATED WITH BULLSHYT and the QUALITY ain't worth a rat's a$$

but at least the MUSIC is still here...HIP HOP had to conform to the BUSINESS MODEL to survive...

or else we would end up like GO GO MUSIC or REGGAE"THONG"

so please stop wasting your time COMPLAINING...

it could be WORST...i'd rather have SUB-PAR HIP HOP than NO HIP HOP

LOL What kind of business encourages rappers to make less money that previous years, while working harder, and music that has zero re-playability? Financially that makes no sense. Plus many of these trap rappers never toured outside of America, where REAL $$$ is from.

Guess drinking that koolaid makes you "trill," right?

AT THE END OF THE DAY....THEY INCLUDING THE BELOVED WUTANG WERE ALL RAPPING ABOUT SELLING DOPE

JUST BECAUSE THEY CAME OFF COMPLEX AND USED MULTIS DON'T MEAN THEY WERE SUPERIOR OR EVEN MORE SIGNIFICANT.....

FUKK IS U TALM BOUT....wtf does mr. satanic verses Esham and all that horrocore stuff u talking about got to do with TRAP MUSIC???!?! :mindblown:

IT'S ABOUT "HUSTLING"..nothing more nothing less than dealing with underclass people creating thier OWN ECONOMY...

the only reason you say it's NOT limited to a particular REGION

is because YOUR DUMB A$$ is NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS REGION (GEORGIA)

and ANY OLD ATL HEAD knows that DECATUR GEORGIA rap group

GHETTO MAFIA was the first to speak on the TRAP on wax..............THAT IS WHERE T.I got that infuence from....

After LAFACE fukked up his direction and sound on his first lp

"IM SERIOUS"......

T.I simply wanted to rep the REAL "A" so he focused on what the streets of ATL including the swats, riverdale and decatur is about which is THE TRAP

it's clear you don't know WTF your talking about cause you referred to TRAP MUZIK as a MIXTAPE :russ:

IT WAS HIS SECOND ALBUM YOU PHATHEAD INCOHERENT PSUEDO-INTELLECUTAL!!!

I see you skimmed like usual.
As a matter of fact,....
Were you not the nikka trying to us ol school way of thought production and krs one content to validate some of your previous postings.
So how in the fukk are you skimming over a post of mine.
Which, is more in depth and thorough than you usual bullshyt half truth musings.
One-sided hood documentary based ramblings.

Ever so eloquently in error and featured here as well.

trap music is just a label attached to make it cool and identifiable for the masses.
Yet, it is not an exclusive genre to ATL.
Nor, was it formulated in ATL.
That is a fact,......
Of which I quoted amd responded to megatron originally.
Then had to further clarify for you, cosigning in error.
Just stop the bullshyt,.....
The problem with rap is nikka, be trying to write their own fukking books of bullshyt.
Which are easily disproved by facts culturally.
Like I said previously,..you watched that to vid and got gassed and your head fukked up.
We know you like and use media to sway your thoughts past facts.
As your whole existence here is built on Forbes bid type documentaries.
So, kill the bullshyt...
You my guy but you completely wrong and I posted the facts to dispute and disprove your bullshyt.
Also,...everyone knows you to be the documentary deal ghetto hood story pseudo intellectual.
So do not ever try to label me your misguided confining ass draw, b!

Get real,.......
Now say sumfin else to dispute a fact and tabling season gon come early for you, my friend.

HIP HOP CHANGED...BUT YOU REFUSE TO CHANGE WITH IT....

:manny:

Hip hop did not change.
The ability of a large influx of wack rappers to make, record and garner deals changed.
Also,...wu tang is what allowed those dudes to have leeway.
To finally get props for rapping in first person about selling dope.
Plus, allowed them to use horror movie style production and see a return as well.
To also eventually get play in the region outside their own and mainly in the east coast.
To allow them their current permeation.
Also, to this day,....
No trap rapper is as proficiently skilled as raekwon with his permeation or impact content wise.
As obfcl,...is the gateway that allowed the edict of the death of cowboy.
To be lifted to allow the culture of hip hop and rap music.
To allow, the content and words of the dope game to go unchallenged without prejudice.
If it was a skilled original emcee rocking.
Of which, real talk...a lot of southern emcees are flawed and wacker than schooley d technically as rappers.
Who are not emcees, and should not be allowed to rap.
Nor, sniff around hiphop to revenue grab.
Whom, only get to hang on production because the fukking bpm's are so fukking slow.
They can emulate baby skill outdated rhyming to so called give their interpretation of rap.
Which is predominately wack as fukk, in general.
Not to mention,..there are only a handful of emcees who are actually emcees.
Or skilled, and most of the good impactful southern artist.
Are from the original One to two sylabe at best newschoolway of thought gangsta rap Gen.

Or an once in a life time talent and wordsmith of the trap Gen like dro.
Also,....
I review that shyt and know the genre better than you..
As real talk,...
Nobody talked about no trap rapper or gave them props.
Till I first talked about them and explains why they were to be given props in this community.

That goes from DJ jimi tapes, jt money and poison clan, to big mike and the convicts, to triple6, project pat, ti, jeezy, Gucci, weezy, ECT...

So kill any bullshyt noise you wanna deflect about when it comes to southern regional rap, too.

Art Barr

nikka whole little gangs and stans got validity from me and me alone in this community.
to even talk about rappers in the south on here,..because I allowed and set them up to be discussed...
So kill the bullshyt,...
You do not know this shyt Better than me.

The 3rd Degree
shyt is horrible. Even R&B artists are singing over trap beats.

If Luther Vandross was alive, even he would have to sing over that garbage just to get radio play:

The same kind of BUSINESS that caused the HOUSING MARKET to crash as well INVESTMENT and SECURITY industry to "rape" millions of retirees and investors.

THE MUSIC BUSINESS OF TODAY IS BUILT ON THE SIMPLE PRINCIPAL of WE CAN MAKE MONEY EVEN WHEN U LIL FUKKAS (RAPPERS) DON'T"

The Business model is so sound right now as evident in the advent of the 360 deal that the MAJORS are able to PROTECT THIER INVESTMENT and GENERATE REVENUE even amongst numerous flops.

Alot of this had to do with the NUMEROUS MERGERS and TAKEOVERS that has taken place over the past few years leaving us with no more than 3 major labels ....all of whom are exclusively owned or partially owned by Hedge Fund investment firms ...the same damn firms that caused the FINANCIAL CRISIS...which basically made money off of people going broke.

These firms always seek fields of investments that are burden by failures, such as the lack of huge album sales and merchandising drop ....

so the majors are in cahoots with these "bankers, investment firms" into selling securities basically "betting" on the failures of various projects ..big or small in order to maintain debt that can infinitly bring about long term revenue to the collector.

the same way Goldman and Sach's has helped drive us in debt for thier benifit with the help of the Federal Reserve...

wendy day said it best.."think of the Major Label as not a record company but a bank"

and it's been going on like this for awhile...

Didn't you listen to JADAKISS on "WHY" when he asked the question:

WHY IS THE INDUSTRY DESIGNED TO KEEP THE ARTIST IN DEBT?????

So it's been that way homie...i'm sorry if this might seem a little complicated for you to understand....but hey CAPITILISIM always seem to be something that most CULTURAL GUYS such as yourself never seem to comprehend anyway...........

It's slowly going away, but when peopel like Kanye started jumping on remixes and even semi-trap tracks, it's allowed it to stick aroudn a bit longer than it should.

Once Lil Wayne, and Ross start rapping on different stuff it'll fade away.

There's a whole generation of producers though with no knowledge of anything outside of trap beats.

Whoever has a huge hit off something that isn't trap influenced, or overly pop influenced is gonna dictate the next direction.

Lil Wayne doesn't even rap on trap beats like that unless it's a feature. To my knowledge none of his hit records have that sound. Ross is also 50/50, ony the second half of his album was like that.

As a producer, Im gon have to say it has a lot to do with the overall MOOD that trap beats set. Ya'll keep labeling these types of beats as "trap", even when the nikkas on the track aren't even talking about trappin' (ex. I Dont Like). On every single beat you can rap about cocaine to, you can also rap about any subjects with a darker feel, like murder, ridin' around the city late at night, nikkas double crossin, etc. Basically anything that happens in the street can be rapped about over a "trap" beat.

Then there's those club bangers with "trap" influences, like No Hands, Racks on Racks, Cash Out, etc. These beats have all the same "trap sounds" that a typical trap record would have, but the producers arranged the melodies on these club tracks in a way that makes the mood go from daunting and provocative, to friendlier and more positive.

When I make a beat with some hard hitting bass, some hi hats, synths, strings, and horns, ya'll gon label it as trap and figure it aint shyt, but to me that beat is theme music for when you hop in the whip with the homies and its 1:00am and you just ridin around.

This nikka right here knows what he talking about.

That Trappy Halloween mixtape is a perfect example of what you saying breh.

Yup you know what Im sayin. I was gon link that mixtape, but I figured nikkas will think Im just tryna promote myself haha, but foreal that tape embodies what Im tryna say.

And that track you did to one of 'em, 28 Weeks Later, is a perfect example of what Im tryna say too. nikkas would call that a trap beat, but you came with a whole different approach and still murked that :salute:
