Why hasn’t there been a Nipsey Hussle “Posthumous” project?

Doesn’t sound like much unreleased stuff is in the vault. And I heard Letty, who is married to Nip’s former road manager, say that the remaining feature verses are only being given to the people they were recorded for (Big Sean, Khaled, etc). They aren’t gonna just take the verses, add big name features who Nip didn’t work with and sell it. I can respect this.

He seems like one of those rappers who only makes music when it’s time for a project ..so he probably ain’t got a ton of music laying around

pop smoke was starting to record his album & new music around the time he passed so he had a lot more shyt available

nikkas like Wayne probably got 25 albums worth of songs somewhere on a hard drive lol

I doubt Pop Smoke had a will either nor Juice Wrld, XXX, Mac Miller, Lil Peep, or any of these rappers that died prematurely. A will doesn’t prevent you from coming out with an album. The money that’s go to Nipsey would just be held up until the estate gets figured out which is likely the case for all these other rappers who passed away,

It's easier to release music from those artist because they likely already signed away their rights or had signed things that stated what would happen if they died. Nipsey also had more ownership/partnership so the owner of the estate likely has approximately 50% control.

When you have a dispute over an estate, the disputes over who gets what percentage can swallow up any profits, especially when they're not "hit" records expected to do millions.

And some of the splits & credits may not have been finalized.

Look at the whole 2Pac sage and how the control has been all over the place and caused delays when we know there are literally hundreds of songs left. They still haven't released the original versions due to many things:francis:. The death of so many people involved with his music makes it even harder.

You make a great point. However XXXtentacion was independent too.

Probably costs a fortune to release, he did own his own music so that also might be the reason.

Believe I saw something that said he didn’t have a lot of unreleased verses to do a new release...

Definitely false. Nip was rapping like 15 years before he died. Nip been around for a LONG time, he has material, his estate may be unable or unwilling to release it.

Nip style has changed since he began . I’d see no point in releasing an album with pre Crenshaw versus .

I've no doubt theres at least 8 to 10 good or potentially good songs recorded after VL and if you include the couple singles he dropped between VL and his death, add in a couple small rapping/singing interludes from those he was close to you've got a guaranteed success of an album.

but I'll be honest, I'm kind of cool on a Nip posthumous album.
Khaled and Big Sean really layed the cheese on thick on their songs with him. now Mustard..he did it right.
