So its PC gamers obsessed with framerates now? Are you just going to casually ignore all the Sony threads bragging about this nonsense for the past 3 years?

In reality, PC gamers have been enjoying 1080p, 60fps for damn near 10 years. We on that 4K, 3D, and soon VR wave in PC land breh.

Catch up if you can.
Must be sad to see Xbox die right in front of you like that :ld:

framerate doesn't even matter on consoles. Just turn on automotion plus and you got what looks like 240 fps. Turn it off, and you got 30fps. It's amazing how much automotion plus smooths out 30fps games. I tried it with Bloodborne, and the difference was EXTREMELY noticeable. Plus, 4K TVs (at least Sony and Samsung) upscale real nicely.

Automotion plus is HORRIBLE for gaming. It adds so much damn input lag it's horrible.
30FPS games don't need that. Good frame pacing and motion blur can make 30fps games look amazing(e.g. Driveclub, The Order, Batman AK etc.)

@MeachTheMonster pointed this out before but he said it's why games like Forza Horizon 2 despite running at 30fps feel extremely smooth while a 30fps game on PC looks kind of "off".

The 30fps games that look like a "slideshow" are games with bad framepacing and frequent drops below 30. 30FPS isn't the problem, frame pacing and frequent frame drops are. Also the way a game's particular engine streams data can cause this and it's not because "weak puny console."

A game can be stable 30fps but have frame pacing which gives off this stuttery look e.g. Bloodborne. It's why a game can look to be running at 60fps or 30fps on either console/PC and still feel "jittery"

:yeshrug: I only tried it out. I have automotion plus off normally. Didn't notice any lag, but then again, I just tried it. Good to know not to use it though.

pfft. We doin 120FPS 1MS ova here ya heard? Get on our level

I normally run at 120hz (1ms isn't happening on LCD btw) but when parts break and I'm using older stuff or I build for others 75hz is my lowest limit.

60hz is like applying mud to the screen.

Nope. I sell whatever I find at Goodwill or other thrift stores to buy bigger TVs for my gaming PC. Or like I just did this past weekend, sell the i5 2500k, traded in 2 old laptops to Best Buy for $100 in gift cards, and then bought a i5 6500 / Z170board without coming out of pocket for anything but $32 DDR4 RAM...

My point is don't try to shyt on PC gaming because a few days of my time (and very little money) I can easily make some flips and upgrade the whole system (minus my gpu this go around (r290, don't need upgrade)). And yes, I'm more of a console gamer but I get much more use out the PC than I do with my X1, Wii U, or PS4, and it's actually cheaper than consoles in the long run

if you just really felt like spending money you couldve just copped an aftermarket cpu cooler and pushed the shyt outta your processor. the i5 2500k is a legendary chip and is notorious for being a great overclocker. performance gains from sandy bridge on to the skylake platform are minuscule :ld:
