Why have we been in such a terrible QB era when league done nothin but make it easier for em to put up stats and protect em?

Something that is definitely not helping is OLine play seems to be at an all time low

The amount of good OLine players being drafted and developed is being far out paced by the amount of good Edge Rushers and Interior Pass Rushers
Because every team is running a spread offense, getting rid of the ball in two seconds and none of these linemen develop.

And plus teams are too pass happy now and don’t like to depend on the running games that’s what I want your OC Ben Johnson he’s currently a top 3 play caller in the NFL he knows how to balance the run and the pass

When the fukk is "now" and "then"? Look at the ridiculous range you posted.

Favre was born in 1969. Warner 1971. McNair in 1973. McNabb 1976. Vick 1980. Big Ben 1982. Rodgers 1983. Stafford 1988. The guys you just listed are TWENTY YEARS apart and you're trying to shove them into the same era? A lot of those guys literally never even were good at the same time. Some were only good a few years and then fell off.

If you're trying to compare 20 years of peak quarterbacks to the performance of young quarterbacks with no legacy in their first year, of course it will look lopsided.

But 20 years from now, we'll talk about how Pat Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Deshaun Watson, Dak Prescott, Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawrence, Jalen Hurts, Justin Fields, Justin Herbert, Tua Tagovailoa, Brock Purdy, and C.J. Stroud all came into the league at the same time. Those players are WAY closer in age than yours were. Using your stretched-out "era", we could include Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, and Matt Ryan all as part of this era too.

Try this. Limit yourself solely to a 5-year window of QB birthdates. Then see how those QBs performed in any particular season. It'll look at lot different than cherry-picking the best across a 20-year span as viewed from the end of their career.
Touches on the point Cowherd made about Brady not becoming the Brady we remember him as until age 30 in year 8. That's when he won his first MVP and took that leap as far as the mental game at the LOS and playing chess at the position. Dak's the oldest QB from that group you referenced and it's no coincidence he's having his best year in that same age 30/year 8 window.

We take it for granted because of the great things they've done but Mahomes, Burrow, Lamar, Hurts, Allen, etc - are all still kids at the position. There's a ton of meat left on the bone as they approach 30 and really elevate as students of the game.

There was an article posted a few years ago about an impending crisis for o-linemen. Defenses have caught up. Everybody is dropping back and throwing all the time. This both exposes your QB to possible injury and their ability or lack therof. Even teams with elite QBs used to run the ball heavy.

Interesting. I will say that Brady's "breakout" also coincided with the arrival of Randall Gene Moss but I see your point. I think this relates to the Cam Newton discussion. You really master managing the game in your 30s and if you dont you will not have a long career. Kinda like NBA players have to develop postgames, jumpers, and more cerebral aspects of the game as they get older. Another thing is that these dudes are flinging it all over the yard from jump. Guys like Marino and Peyton used to be the exception. Now its the expectation. And you gotta win too. Mahomes won 2 SB young, throwing it all over the yard. You look back at most QBs that won young and they were usually carried by a run game and/or defense.

That’s why Ben Johnson is going to be Everyone’s number one coaching target he still balances the run and pass

Kirk leader if you take games played into account.... Kirk was journeyman barely top 10 QB in that era. IF he stayed healthy he might have won MVP in this era.

People been callin him next Marino LMAO. Sayin he top 5. All this shyt. Been to playoffs twice....

One of the biggest playoff chokes ever, blew 27pt lead
14/32 and 1 TD to 4 PICKS the next

Jordan Love top 10 QB....

The next Packer great....

0 TDs to 3 INTs

These 2 of the top 10 QBs of this era :francis: many been sayin Herb top 5 for years now too :mjlol:

We used to shyt on Phillip Rivers but he is so much better than almost any QB today. shyt besides Mahomes, Josh, Lamar, Burrow he better than anyone else in the league today. Rivers was barely top 10 in that era of actual strong QB play. Game gone sad.

All around receiver play has declined. These new receivers drop balls like Verizon drop calls.
