Most people aren't good at something the first few times they do it.

Keep working at it. Over time it'll be easy.
Don't quit

I feel U bro, but trust me. I tried n tried. Even thru a some boxing training off n on over the years and just jumping rope on my own.

Just one of those things for me I guess.

It sux, cuz I can I see how good of a workout it can be.

Damn....a lot of people on here sound like they've wrecked their bodies before even getting old. Age aint nothing but a number. Jumping rope is relatively low impact and aids in other shyt you'll benefit from as you get older, like coordination. Start with an attainable number of skips and then progress to just doing it for a set amount of time. The jump rope is the cheat code.

Yeah. At first I would try to go for time but after a while I decided to ignore all that. I would count skips but now I just go until I can't anymore. Wait for my heart rate to come down a bit. Then do it again.
I have a tracker for the time, so once I get to about 35 minutes...if I'm good I'll stop there. If I feel a bit more in the tank I'll go 40, 45. I think that's a good session. An hour (or more) seems excessive.

I think once I get to the point where I can skip for a long time, I can probably get what I need in 20-30 mins.

I enjoy running outside more as my means of cardio and trying to balance this with the gym and keep my gains is already enough.

I’m not sleep on using a jump rope though. Hell of a workout.

Weighted battle ropes or some sort of stationary bike for the older crowd thinking long term physical health.

Beaten joints w/ taxed cns and immune system compounded with the physical stresses of jump roping is not the move for us old heads.
