There are a grip of interviews Bernie did where he was gassing it up with Lou Dobbs (at the height of Dobbs anti-immigration hysteria) because Bernie was forcefully fighting against the Kennedy/McCain immigration reform bill in 2007.
Now if one were to take a nuanced view of Bernie's opposition to the bill you would see that he was against it for worker's rights reasons but nuance doesn't factor into presidential primary campaigns and all that needs to be said to turn Latino voters from Bernie is that he fought the bill and agreed with Lou Dobbs.
And in regards to that Michelle Alexander article...I find it odd that she holds Hillary more responsible for being FLOTUS when the Crime Bill was passed than she does Bernie Sanders who actually voted for it.
Just wanted to post this to play devil's advocate and break up the Bernie Sanders circle jerk that has taken over this forum.
