Early 2000s = late 90s . Its like late 80s early 1990s. Or late 70s =early 1980s. Or late 1960s early 1970s etc.

One of the main plots in the movie was an interracial romance between a white girl (who moved to the ghetto) and a black guy.

I was 8 when the movie came out but they played it hundreds of times on basic cable television.

The movie to my knowledge did extremely well and won several awards.

I know we had social justice warriors back then. How come black feminists didn't boycott the movie back then? Did they?

Personally, I loved the movie growing up. And I saw it multiple times on tv.

Racism was not nearly as bad then as it is now.
