Not with that cost of living. And yes tech pays high salaries but people fail to mention how stressful it can get.

There are many companies in Silicon Valley, and work life balance varies even within large companies with some teams being much less stressful than others.
Not Silicon Valley, but I know Microsoft in the Seattle area is known for having a lot of teams where people work like 30 hours a week because they're on a team just in charge of "maintaining" a product that doesn't need a lot of maintenance. I know new grads making 150k+ a year on teams like that.
