(Before anyone says anything, yeah, I have a VPN, and torrent software, and you know why. This isn't about that, I just wanted to get that out of the way) - Despite this. I still purchase content, part of resisting the below is making sure you support people that make content you enjoy, if you have the funds to do so.

Specifically, it's an external blu ray/dvd drive that can play and burn 100GB disc.

I don't know, I didn't like how some manufacturers were starting to phase out Blu Ray for streaming, even if it's because people are buying less blu rays, it feels like one big trap.

- We don't truly own digital content we purchase (You bought that digital movie on Amazon? Yeah, they can snatch that anytime they want)
- Pushing people to buy digital instead of physical
- Using the "Protect children from 18+ content excuse to get people to ID themselves on the net
- Stronger DRM being released every year

Kind of spur of the moment, I might not do anything with it, cause I'm not big on movies.

Like I'm just throwing a small stone at a tank to make myself feel better. :wow:

. . . . i bought the whole ZeroZeroZero series off Prime a couple years ago . . .. . it recently disappeared due to "expired rights" . .. not sure if anybody else experienced this but i reached out to Amazon and they responded on some bullshyt like "we will only issue a refund if we receive notification that the streaming-rights are permanently sold to another third-party streamer". . . ..

This is why I bought so many movies -especially movies with Black actors and culture movies- first of all a lot of streaming platforms don't stream what I want to watch or try to get you to pay extra (try watching Menace II Society "You can watch it on Amazon Prime for $6.99" wait so I pay for Amazon Prime AND I have to pay extra...?)

I think we should have our own movie collections so we can always play our favorites, and no internet outage, no app or service being down could stop that.

ALSO: the extra/bonus features, the commentary, the interviews, behind the scenes on physical products are dope.

So you have a PS5 pro AND a 4k uhd player? Doesn't the PS5 pro also play blu-rays at 4K HD?

It's not that great as a blu ray player and doesn't support dolby vision and the upscaling from regular blu ray is kinda trash. Upscaling isn't great on the the xbox has dolby vision but it's not great either unless it's a 4k blu ray. I got me a Panasonic, not the top one but the one just below it, the ub-450 and it's not even close as far as how good it looks. The ub-850 is considered the top version for Panasonic but if you have a mid to upper tier OLED then the difference is not noticeable because the biggest difference between the 850 and 450 is the upscaling, but with some TVs it has the same level of upscaling. The PS5 and Xbox don't handle non 4k signals great to the tv.
