(Before anyone says anything, yeah, I have a VPN, and torrent software, and you know why. This isn't about that, I just wanted to get that out of the way) - Despite this. I still purchase content, part of resisting the below is making sure you support people that make content you enjoy, if you have the funds to do so.
Specifically, it's an external blu ray/dvd drive that can play and burn 100GB disc.
03-13-26 EDIT: copying post I made just to give an update on this. This didn't work, and I left a bad review. (It only did blu rays and does not read 4k disc, I assumed it would because of the 100GB reference, but learning experience on my part) I returned it and dropped more money on a panasonic ub420 4k blu-ray player, but maybe should have got a UB450 for Dolby Vision. I'll have to get something to burn disk later.
I don't know, I didn't like how some manufacturers were starting to phase out Blu Ray for streaming, even if it's because people are buying less blu rays, it feels like one big trap.
- We don't truly own digital content we purchase (You bought that digital movie on Amazon? Yeah, they can snatch that anytime they want)
- Pushing people to buy digital instead of physical
- Using the "Protect children from 18+ content excuse to get people to ID themselves on the net
- Stronger DRM being released every year
Kind of spur of the moment, I might not do anything with it, cause I'm not big on movies.
Like I'm just throwing a small stone at a tank to make myself feel better.
