Of course it's a scam. It's theatrics, and they still haven't announced the date of a vote. One member of the tribe gets cut loose, another member of the tribe scoots up to save the day and lift everybody's boats by substantially overpaying. It's all theatre. But it will still be nice to get him out o there.
I wonder what ever gave him the idea that his lifetime ban would be rescinded as part of the Ballmer deal, though? He's not senile or suffering from dementia, no matter what those Hollywood docs say. I think he's still sound of mind enough to have interpreted whatever preliminary they showed him in the way they wanted him to interpret it.
Somebody led him to believe his ban could be rescinded. Just need to know who, and why -- and what the loophole is that's now being blocked with a sheet and some cardboard.

I thought Doc Rivers made the right decision at the time -- and that the team also made the right decision to rebel against Doc by protesting in the safest way possible while still getting press about their displeasure. That's their livelihood, and being Ali or Jackie Robinson is a lonely, harsh road.

I have been thinking about this situation and there are ONLY 2 options were
(1) All the black players REFUSE to play in the play offs...If this is not an option because of money then....
(2) And this would have been the ABSOLUTELY best decision...The black players play, but they turn the games into a Harlem Globe Trotters Buffoonery Clownish playground uncompetitive games...
This would be the best option because (a) The players get paid for showing up and (2) if something is not done about Sterling, then the NBA would lose ALL credibility...And it would damage the brand FOREVER...
Opening the door for Black Owners to start a majority black owned league with all the talent...
If Blacks thought like Jews, they would have a future in this world...
You'd think as a lawyer he'd know that his free speech isn't being violated. Facing consequences over what you said(whether in private or not) isn't a violation of your Freedom of speech unless that consequence is jail time.
