This is wrong. The USA hasn't had an edge in economics for a while now.

The USA became filthy rich due to WW2.

WW2 destroyed Europe and Asia and the USA was untouched. Thus the USA became the World's number one producer.

The same accumulation and mobilization if capital to gear up for the war was then used to sell shyt.

Britain and France retreated from the world stage to lick their wounds. Japan became a USA colony pretty much. China closed itself off and reorganized their society.

Only country that was left, that had any real power to challenge the USA was the USSR.

By the 1970s, Japan bested the USA's auto industry. By the 1990s, Japan was considered an economic rival to the USA.

Due to the Cold War, the USA created NATO shf rendered many militaries in Europe obsolete. Therefore many Europe countries decided to create social democracies to serve their citizebs while the USA essentially vows to protect them .

The USA isn't number 1 anything besides incarceration rates, military spending and drug consumption.

The USA reputation as an economic powerhouse that gives people a true middle class life was one period of time after WW2.

When the rest of the world reorganizing itself and the USA had no competition.
Nah, US passed Britain in 1890 in GDP. The US began to out produce the British empire in WW1, and was essentially funding France and Britain war effort.

There's a reason why when the US economy collapsed in 1929, the world went with it.

You're right about the US neglecting social welfare in favor of overall GDP and military though. In terms of Social welfare we are awful.

330 million people on the 3rd largest country on Earth. North America just happens to be one of the most diverse resource rich continents on Earth and the US owns nearly all of it.

Alaska for instance was purchased from Russia for 7 mil, which is 200 million dollars in today's money, now it's worth 7 trillion.

That's true, but I was thinking about like...peak USA...with the money and military power influence and the whole wealth spreading.

Which is why I started with WW2.

The USA was one of the fastest growing economies by 1850 and really just needed more people..

Which is why wages and etc was high and on pace with production until the 1970s.

Yeah your right, we still pass the British Empire eventually, especially since IndiaIand Africa which the majority of Britains wealth came from were beginning to fight for their independence, but it's not as dramatic if WW2 never happens.

It's crazy how the average Japanese and German is better off than the average Brit in America, even though we "won" the war. :francis:

Slavery (governments subsidizing industry with human misery), put us on the map, but it was not having a class system that put us over. In a lot of countries in the world, you're locked into your social strata. In the US, we got brehs who were hustling on corners cracking 10 figures :whew:

Thats not saying there isn't institutional classism and racism, but you come from the gutter in 95% of countries in the world, thats where you die. Here, you at least have a chance.

Combination of a lot of the above answers

But usa is thr absolute best at innovation

It's the free market economy, and capitalistic society we live in, that makes the cream of the crop come from here

Combine that with our resources and the ability to develop these skills

It's not a surprise almost all the biggest tech companies that are valued as the biggest companies, are all american

It's kinda crazy how the USA was so isolationist and funding Britain's wars to becoming British Empire 2.0

I see where you're going and I can't deny that. But I was taking the question to mean something totally different. While you are speaking on the country and industries.. I'm speaking on the number of rich people here, and the ease of which we can make money.

In other countries, you can't get rich off heathcare because it's government. A lot of countries do the same with banking and we don't. With their stock market and we don't. This doesn't even factor in common freedoms. Where the govt will just seize your shyt like a dictator. Or communist tactics of keeping everyone down. The way we back our dollar, isn't the same. The way we spend ourselves into debt and borrow back out of it, isn't normal. Plenty of other countries are raping africa and the middle east right now. We tax less than a lot of countries.. Out there giving free college and health care and child care, but taxing them 60-70%.. They pass us in every category that matters on a world scale, to your point... and we still dust them easily in money

if we turned into a communist regime tomorrow, we'd be broke and fukked up by 2030.. There's a reason why republicans fight every single type of regulation on anything.. fukk it, let them dump toxic sewage in the water, long as them dollars rolling in. hey fukk up the entire world's financial systems giving fake loans, we'll borrow it back and make sure everything stays the same.

as long as money is seen as the only important thing. and the laws are geared to let that be the most important factor.. even down to laws where corporations can donate unlimited funds to candidates, lobbyist can donate unlimited funds, and politicians are basing laws on who bought them......... america will always be in first place. cause we've implemented a free market system that says do whatever the fukk you want, just call it "business"
