20 years ago swine was on everyone's shyt list.....
now...
I believe it's a personal slap again Muslims.
Bacon has always been a staple on American menus. On burgers, pizza, salads and of courses breakfast.
I'd say the timing of 9/11 and social media worked together to really redefine bacon. With youtube and Facebook and other stuff really taking off it became easier to popularize various recipes and creations aka bacon weaves, and bacon balls
Keep in mind none of these ideas or recipes are new, the internet explosion, (emails, Facebook, youtube, able to easily send and share photo's, etc) just made it all more mainstream.
It's tough to argue, if you ask a lot of people they'll say "who doesn't like bacon?"
Then there's the people who take it too far and derive an underlying meaning. Throwing bacon at mosques, secretly putting bacon on or in people's food.
Bacon is everywhere now, Cologne / body spray, shirts, pillows, cupcakes, candy, the baconator (2007)......
I only fukks with turkey bacon and cow bacon. But white people know what they're doing. I've been to plenty of bbq places where a pig (which usually signifies that there's pulled pork and pork ribs) is toting an American flag. It's kind of like "Well I don't want to serve to Muslims anyway so I'll just serve pork with everything" kind of steeze. Whereas most "smokehouses" bbq places that special in beef ribs, beef brisket, prime rib...ive never seen a cow toting a flag. Definitely doesnt mean they don't exist, I've just not seen a lot of them.
