One is largely a cultural thing tied to a common language.
The other has more pronounced physical distinctions.
Ethnicity and race aren't mutually exclusive btw.
There are white hispanics, black hispanics, native american Hispanics (Mexico/Peru), etc.

Nah I may be tweaking. But black people, or AA are a mix of cultures, most of us have European blood, and none of us are a majority African, . It doesn't make since from a common sense stand point. Shouldn't aa be different from Africans?

Hispanic is not even a real ethnicity. It's something Americans use as a lazy grouping for people south of the border who happen to speak Spanish.
Historically there are three races, Caucasian Negro and asiatic. That is a grouping based on color of the skin.
Latinos are grouped together based on culture, specifically language. If you look at the Americas, you will see all of the languages of the colonizer a and he colonized, outside of the USA, are Romantic languages, Latin in nature.
