Why is Camp Lo - Uptown Saturday Night rarely ever discussed as one of the best 90s albums ?

I think the rhymes/content holds it back... they were nice and had their own style, but it's sorta like a 'niche' style that's not for everybody. That production tho- gotdamn Ski.

I thought that too when I first listened to the album for the first time when I was 14 , but now that I watched alot of Blaxpilation films over the years I realized that they got alot of their terminology from there .

that's another reason the shyt was so dope... it really was a concept album

that whole album felt like some 70s shyt... even the videos was throw backs.. the lingo.. everything

yep, dude's flow is still immaculate to this day.

he was floating on "bright lights" on their new album.

uptown saturday night is a production masterpiece, akin to Real Live's "The Turnaround", The Beatnuts "Street Level/Self-Titled" etc.., it's a shame how disappointing and terrible their sophomore lp was though in comparison.

Uptown Saturday Nighth = undeniable classic. That demo tape was flames too.

I think they just opted to never conform to the industry & paid the price for it. But they still doing they thing, and ill continue to listen.
