If he is such a hype job then why does Canelo do his best to avoid fighting him again and again? He said he doesn't fight other Mexicans, doesn't fight boxers who haven't beaten anybody (Yildrim, Rocky Fielding etc say hello).Benavidez is being hyped to the moon for beating a man that Canelo stopped nearly two years ago.
Benavidez's entire gimmick is that he can boil himself down to the 168 limit and beat up on fighters he has a physical advantage over.
David doesn't even have more power than Golovkin, and he has a comparable stamina and chin to GGG too. At least G never been dropped by Gavril.

he's not scared, but he clearly just doesnt value the fight. with him losing to bivol, he now has even more reason to not fight benavidez any time soon because he will be negotiating the bivol rematch and taking much easier fights in the meantime. if benavidez was a light footed-technical boxer, then i would say canelo is actually ducking. i dont think canelo is bothered by pressure fighters much, especially not at his most comfortable weight.
