I think a lot of that is part of the act, he probably laughs to himself thinking about how freaked out people get by him.
He's one of my favorite magicians and the weirdness adds to it. He does more than the magic, like testing his body with the endurance stuff being buried alive, frozen, electrocuted, submerged in water, isolated in the glass box., etc. But he's still doing the illusions and magic that got him popular.
To me he's way more versatile than Chris Angel and obviously has more staying power, he's been around since the 90s and people still get blown away by his magic. It's great stuff, I like his whole act.
The weirdness is part of the presentation like how Penn and Teller do their routine and mix in comedy. The Amazing Jonathan mixed in comedy with his act too.
