Why is drinking considered more sophisticated than smoking?

Because drinking is still a huge part of socializing I’m society like smoking was 30+ years ago. Smoking also once viewed and sophisticated

Smoking is dirty and smells also more detrimental to your health. ( lungs and teeth). Smoking is also loaded with a ton of additives.

A lot of people do. It's all throughout media. Look at the commercials, it's always some dude in a tuxedo or lady in a dress drinking.

Because drinking has distinct “levels”; rail vs top shelf or whatever and unless you’re smoking cigars, you don’t get that distinction with smoking, especially tobacco.

More people are weed elitist now, so I see the same type of classification; reggie vs loud, street vs homegrown vs dispensary.

I agree smoking stinks, but weed is awesome. Allergies make your eyes red too.
