Straight outta Compton got more attention because of the FBI letter. Eazy Duz It was perfect for 1988 with street songs & clean songs for radio play. Plus no one can take credit for the production like they do for the death row music so the internet doesn’t talk about the album.

I was in middle school when it came out and it was huge. Revolutionary, even, because gangsta rap was still more or less brand new.

As far as why it doesn't get props in 2018....because people have the attention span of gnats. Nobody talks about songs that came out 6 months ago....let alone some shyt that dropped 30 years ago.

East coast bias. If the east can get away without giving a non east coast artist their props then they will.
If he repped the east this wouldn't be a problem

i dont think its that, its more about impact on the overall game

people dont talk about it much cause look what straight outta compton did, look at the chronic, look at doggystyle
those albums made huge waves

eazy duz it was a stepping stone

You might not think it was that,But I KNOW IT WAS THAT.
Yes those albums you named had a greater impact. HOWEVER,east coast bias media never had a problem propping up east coast albums that impacted the game less than Eazy duz it.

it's the reason you'll see albums like OB4CL and Illmatic mentioned alongside Doggystyle and The Chronic, while Eazy duz it won't be.

i dunno bro, theirs a few east coast albums that get overlooked too, eric b and rakim have a few albums but only paid and full gets talked about, no one mentions Don't Sweat the Technique album

it makes sense why OB4CL and Illmatic get mentioned along side Doggystyle and The Chronic
OB4CL is the hardcore wu tang solo member album that featured the other members and helped GFK solidified his position in the game, illmatic, well i dont think need to say anything about that album

eazy duz it is the stepping stone for NWA's take over , all albums cant be talked about or placed in the hall of fame, boogie down productions has more than 1 album but criminal minded is the one everyone talks about :yeshrug:

Your response shows you're brainwashed and part of the problem.
Illmatic flopped, took 7 1/2 years to go platinum.
Some might say sales shouldnt matter,ok if not,do the following and get back to me:

Name me a west coast album from the mid nineties that sold similar to illmatic and also gets the same level of props.

Matter of fact ,name a west coast album that flopped, from any era over the last 30 years that gets the same level of props as OB4Cl or Illmatic

i thought it was about impact, breh? why mention flopping and sales
what west coast album from the mid nineties had an impact like illmatic? even people in texas felt that

people in this thread have listed reasons why eazy duz it doesn't get much props and it makes sense
