They don't know how to build around stars. That's why they're forced to trade Love in the first place. I mean they have 25 year old All-Star player and can't keep him. They drafted Rubio over Curry. That speaks to the quality of their management.
Thier track history is bad but it's the best option for them....it's a foregone conclusion Love is out and if Wiggins lives up to the hype it will lessen the blow of losing him.
But you right between Rubio, Wesley Johnson, johnny Flynn they've been terrible with building a roster

Bennett, Waiters and the pick are really immaterial. They're throw ins. If they didn't need to be in an offer for cap purposes they wouldn't be there at all, so why worry about them? They could get them back in 2 years

Effort isn't going to give him the ability to alter shots at the rim, effort didn't make Carlos Boozer a great defender even though he was playing with an elite defensive big.
Honestly, how many games of Kevin Love have you seen? Bosh showed he could play defense when he was playing for Team USA, Love has never shown the ability to play defense at a high level.
