The god of the Bible is portrayed as a villain and proclaimed to be the hero...by the fearful narrators.
The Old Testament clearly portrays God as vengeful and murderous, wiping out all of mankind save for a single family, leveling cities, killing children, etc. In the Old Testament, Satan is never is never cited causing harm to anyone except in the book of Job with God's permission so that God could win a bet.
