I'm pretty sure somebody called it the best West Coast album ever on this site

I won't even bother asking you who u think is credible because I guarantee you will say something stupid. Opinions are like asholes..

Game's career has been quite successful compared to most so I have no idea what you're rambling about..

Right, "guarantee" that it'll be stupid. So if opinions are like a$$holes, why is mine not allowed?

I know Game as an artist. I followed dudes career from 2004. So dont sit there and try to school me like im your toddler.

Who discussed anything about a career you goof? When did i say anything about that? I said "He'll be a cat who'll be around as a character in the game" didnt i?

But many will never care for his music or him as an artist. Many view him as a straight gimmick. Some dont, but alot of people do. And for you to question why i'd say that tells more about you than me.

Am I missing something? I'm not feeling the beats (especially the "modern" sounding ones, so corny), Game is still name dropping and uninteresting, and idk man, this shyt's just not for me. There's something majorly missing from this project, and I can't quite figure out what it is.

Edit: Figured it out. It's generic as fukk. Kind of soulless too.

It was a lil overkill.... If he would have chosen the best 12-15 tracks it would have definitely been a classic. Plus I'm annoyed by having to switch from 2 - 2.5 to listen to certain songs.....

Speaking of songs, what are the best 3 songs on the CD to you?

sound wise:

On Me, Documentary 2, and Dollar and a Dream

message wise:

Gangbang Anyway, The Ghetto, Like Father Like Son 2

I just switch off between all of disc one and all of disc two...it took a while for them to become as enjoyable as they are now, especially disc 2. i think its cool how disc 1 sounds better but disc 2 is more deep. At first I wasn't feelin a lot of the tracks on either disc, but like every game album, they got multiple times better after many listens. The only part of either CD I hate now is the hook on LA...

From all the hoopla on this sight, I can tell the album is not as good as some people are claiming it to be...Hype is no longer a reliable criteria for judging good hip hop albums...

Nowadays, I just wait until the hype has calmed down and people have moved on to a new trend, before I listen to a heavily promoted album, and judge for it for myself....

You can tell the album isn't good without hearing it...? :usure:

If you haven't heard both discs 5+ times you are doin it wrong and are sleeping on this. This isn't pop. This wasn't that heavily promoted either, there's two singles on a 36 track album.

I think you are way too pessimistic. I've never thought the "name dropping" critique was valid. He's not name dropping he is doing wordplay/paying homage with people's names... I don't get why Jay-Z and Eminem do this all the time and no one cares, but for Game its a huge deal.

I've lived in Compton so it is not uninteresting to me. I could see how it might be if you don't relate to it or don't get a lot of the references...honestly I think you gotta spin it a few more times with a more positive mind state and you might enjoy it... its hard to appreciate this many tracks at once and appreciate the finer points of the tracks. When you get 36 thrown at you at once, I can see how you would think they are 'generic'... but I think you aren't paying attention to what is important (nostalgia, energy, subtle lyrics/wordplays etc)

as for being 'soulless' i dont see that at all... the second disc hits hard

If I wanted to listen to every hot artist out there, I'd just listen to every hot artist out there, not Game :mjlol:
