All I saw was articles and tweets talking about "What's wrong with Chappelle's latest special" before I actually watched. I purposely didn't read anything because I didn't want it to be spoiled. It actually made me more interested. Basically Dave is doing the same thing that got him blackballed 15 years ago...not conforming. He's actually taking it to another level and going as far left (actually in this case it's right) as he can. The LGBTQ community wields major power on the left and Dave is refusing to bow down or kiss the rainbow ring. He actually did a great job exposing the hypocrisy of both the right and left. That's why it's funny to have people on the left clutching their pearls and folks on the right acting like he's a new ally. It's really sad that we have gotten to a place in this country where there is outcry for a person refusing to stay on one side and just keeping it a buck and calling it how they see it. I empathize with trans people. However, there is a lot of room for questions and yes, even jokes. If you can be born in the wrong body as far as gender, then it stands to reason you can be born in the wrong body in other ways too right?
