I agree to an extent..I agree that calling someone fatherless is corny cause the only thing that matters is you have a positive male figure in your life, it don't have to be your father. Lotta brehs out here are simps cause they modeled themselves from their dad. I mean look at Steph Curry as an example![]()
You can have all the strong, reliable male figures in your life..
Even have a step father like Shaq..
But in the back of your mind..
The question of why wasn’t my real father in my life..
Will linger..
Your biological fathers’ voice is needed in life..
Especially between the ages of 12-21..
He is supposed to be the one to guide with your..
Confidence..
Controlling your emotions..
Problem solving skills..
How to deal with women..
Work ethic..
My pops was never around..
He would do the little “check in” every now and then..
And I always had OGs telling me right from wrong..
Or..
Trying to keep me out the streets..
It worked..
I ways very fortunate to know them(they have since passed)..
But I still battle with anger and other fukked up feelings..
That I’m dealing with in therapy..
Having to learn how to navigate the world by yourself..
Especially as a black man..
Is rough..
I had an amazing mother but a woman can only teach/supply you so much..
And women shouldn’t take that as a slight but it’s just hardcore facts..
Just like I can’t teach my daughter everything about how to be a woman..
