Why is Goff's demotion to 3rd string not a bigger story?

To be fair, he pretty much landed in one of the worst places aside from Cleveland for a QB. We saw how Fisher handled Vince Young.

Waaay to early for this. I mean it sounds like some of you just started following the NFL 5 years ago. The QB position had always had a steep learning curve and most rookies stuggle badly. This is a non-issue

I saw this analyst on ESPN say the other day

"Well tom Brady didn't start his first year and look at how that turned out . I don't know why people are making a big deal out of this":why:

Brady was a 6th round draft pick on a team that already had an established veteran QB who took them to a superbowl already(Bledsoe)

Goff is the number one overall pick who the Rams traded up for on a team with career bums like case keenum and Sean mannion:pachaha:

You're saying this as if it's common for 1st rounders, let alone the no.1 pick, to be 3rd string.

Trade your entire draft for a QB who calls plays by hand signals, brehs.

*waits for Rams to start Goff and run all fly pattern all game*

Dumbass exec's :ahhh:

rather its common or not, its the right thing to do. Most 1st round qb's that come in and start immediately suck and are sometimes ruined by that.

“Jared’s had a great camp, so has Sean. Case is clearly our starter. I think Week 1 just to settle things down … it’s probably going to be, like I mentioned last week, it’s probably going to be three and inactive,” Fisher said to Steve Wyche of NFL Media. “That’s just how it goes. And then next week we’ll flip them. I just want him to feel and sense and absorb the pressures of Week 1. He’s going to be a great player. As we’ve said from Day One, we’re not rushing him. We don’t have to rush it. I’m really happy with where he is right now. It’s unfair to compare him to anybody else. I know Philly has got their situation, it’s a little different and trading Sam so Carson is going to start, but you know Jared is in a good place right now. He’s done some really good things, so I’m really pleased with his progress.”

Anyone making excuses in defense of Fisher and the Rams FO clearly doesn't understand how the draft works...

The number 1 overall is not to be used on a fukking project player, its to be used on an NFL ready talent...
Not only did these idiots draft a player number 1 overall they can't start but also mortgaged the next five years in order to pick him...:what:

Fisher has always been the symbol for privileged white mediocrity but this is pure INSANITY...
But they thought he was NFL - starter ready

None of that affected Carson Palmer career. This thread is dumb.

In palmers day you could bench a guy for a year. Tenn benched McNair for multiple years, those days are over

There were a lot of questions about goff coming out

Never beat a legit team in the pac 12

Played in a air raid offense in college, look at petty, he struggled mightily picking up a NFL offense last year

Lots of questions for a guy drafted number 1 overall when there should be no questions and no doubt
