Why Is Having A Car Seen As An Achievement?

Just seen a thread and dude basically called my man a piece of shyt because he didn't have car



I've noticed that this seems to be the consensus among blacks and Hispanics in New York too.
My credit is good, and if I wanted I could finance something nice. If I need a vehicle I can rent one.
What does having a car change about the caliber of person I am?

In NY, depending on where you live and where you normally travel it's useless. Got my first car in 2010 and racked up a whole bunch of parking tickets cuz I can never find parking unless it's 3-4 blocks away from where I'm going. People from NY be so stuck in they ways. You just gotta ignore em. People who never been anywhere don't know shyt about anything. But it definitely shows someone's age if they think a car is an accomplishment. Other states kids start driving when they like 15 and shyt...

Most of that is immaturity. A lot of young nikkas still look at a car as a way and means to get a girl and of course society and women in general reciprocate this mentality.

What needs to be seen as an achievement is building wealth and being a man by committing to the woman you're with and protecting and raising your family...all this other shyt is distractions.

If you live in a city such as NY...you dont need a car...but if you down south and an adult and dont have a car...you a bum

Your logic is flawed to an extent...I can make the same argument as to why I have a 4 bedroom....and you still got a roomate in an apartment..but since you dont "need the 4 bedroom".you have a better moral standing

Depends on your area...In NY and DC where it's a bytch to drive It's probably not that bad.

But I still feel like an adult should own a vehicle whether it's 2020 hybrid bat mobile or a 1988 oldsmobile

Exactly, barring certain areas around the country where you don't really need a car, I feel like it's definitely a necessity in our society. You're much more useful with a car then without one.
