also it seems a bit strange that a forum presumably made up of black American men are just casually saying "go get help"
1) Mental health is still taboo in the blk community esp so for hetero black men. Don't want to be seen as "touched" or a soft ass nikka
2) We are an economically disenfranchised group. A lot of us are barely covering the essentials. Therapist visits are out if you just tryna eat. Plus you gotta find a good black one because a lot of black men aren't trying to talk to some middle aged white lady about their emotions and childhood trauma. Easier and cheaper to drink/smoke the pain away
