Why is it legal for A singular person to own multiple homes?

There's soooooo many people working jobs living in cars. These guys are so out of touch.Imagine seeing our housing and wage situation in this country and even considering asking this question
That's what I had to do to save enough money to buy a house

I feel humans are predisposed to believe in something and since America has abandoned it's churches everyone has taken politics as their new religion.

this isn't about some generic concept of "housing" , it's about housing in a handful of expensive popular metro areas
i just went to zillow and put in chester pa and baltimore md and sort from lowest to highest and it was hundreds of properties under $100K, many that need work for under 50k in baltimore which is a "major" city in fact
people in this country can afford houses, it's just not where they want the houses to be. yall want a fantasy world where people can live where they want when they want and that's never been the case, even before the concept of private property evolved (earlier civilizations paid for land in blood)

Housing prices are what they are because the demand doesn't match the current inventory. The inventory is low for a bunch of different reasons. Rich people and corporations would be buying just as many houses in a different market and none of that would affect the prices. The fact is, corporations are more successful at acquiring because they have liquid cash. If corporations stopped buying houses, the prices wouldn't change.

I think one person should be able to legally own multiple homes.
But I think there should be laws restricting people from having monopolies in certain locations. We are seeing this with corporations.. Major corporations nowadays have bought out and acquired major companies in certain niche categories.
It's like all the monopoly laws we learned in school got thrown out.
