When other athleletes from other countries don't even have to and are successful? It doesn't make sense to me that we have this system in America when it has shown to be incredibly flawed in many ways. We are literally putting shackles on our athlete's true potential, instead of honing their techniques in their respective sports.

its not mandatory to go to college...there is a limit on the number of years you have to be out of high school, because they dont want kids getting shattered by grown men (in football). You want kids straight outta HS at 6'1 barley 160 going head to head with dudes who have been doing strength training in the NFL for multiple years?

Baseball, you can still go straight to the pros after high school..hell the #1 pick in the MLB draft a few weeks ago was a high school kid.

NBA, too many HS kids were trash they put an end to that. Kids could have went overseas or trained for a year while waiting for the HS time limit to pass..I think they are about to kill that rule tho and allow HS kids to enter the draft again.

College was never mandatory.
