Why is it that black people rarely/never use linking verbs?

The thread starter is basically asking why black people talk in slang/'Ebonics'

Ex:
William excited about his promotion.
Most children cranky when they sleepy
Martin like spicy food
You very foolish to believe her
Etc.

Because, you know, black people are a monolith. :childplease:
Not using linking verbs is not Ebonics/slang. Also considering we sometimes use the wrong form. "I don't care who you is"

OP should change the thread title to why linking verbs are rarely used in AAVE/Ebonics. Implying all black people rarely use linking verbs is a stretch.
A mod can change it if they want. Not sure if I can but that's not what I was implying. Of course every black person doesn't speak that way.

So we arent allowed to question ourselves on bad tendencies? :stopitslime:

It really is something that should be worked on. Imagine going through an interview speaking that way? Chances are you won't get hired :francis: Im just trying to look out for my brethren

Many of these type of threads end up being about how "We are our own worst enemy". Instead of blaming black people look into why our schools get so little funding.

No money = No books

Many of our children are not getting a proper education.

I take joy in misusing the English language considering how it was forced on my family. Our own languages were outlawed until we forgot them completely.

Grammar and punctuation are not true measures of black intellect.
take joy in mis-using the only language you know brehs

easily the dumbest shyt ive read on here
