When I heard some of those eminem songs recently it became really obvious how corny all those dumb pop star disses were, I mean seriously wtf

these days he sounds like he's forgotten how to rap
i heard him on that weeknd/nicki minaj remix and that shyt was horrible
like i said, eminem ain't impressed me with music since 02' (only song i can think of is his song "beautiful" from his 09' album)
but in 2016, eminem ain't a factor as an mc no more. sure, he still got his stans and hard core fans but he ain't puttin' out no good or great music no more

Maybe it seems that way b/c Eminem is overrated and overrepresented elsewhere online. It's like these white music writers can't have a discussion about rap w/o using Eminem as a reference point for greatness.
So it might seem like hating when the coli don't dikk-ride him like the rest of the hipster music writers.
I mean that teenage angst/ shock rap was cool in middle school but that shyt doesn't hold up today. It's cringeworthy listening to some of his stuff today.
In reality he's not even top 10 imo
Plus I don't think anyone is checking for him in 2016 enough for him to have all these supposed haters.

now i can agree with this. the problem is definitely the white music critics who act like eminem is the best thing since slice bread and then too, they act like hip hop started and ends with him and i see a huge problem with that because you know payin' respect to the genre that's been here since his was a kid
and i agree with a some of his subject matter not holdin' up today. but you know what, you could say the same about a lot of gangsta shyt too, as a grown man a lot of that shyt gets played out because it sounds so foolish and immature
and yeah, in 2016 he ain't no damn factor at all. he ain't been a factor in 10 plus years. i was just speakin' on different post i see on here that come across like eminem won't talented back in the late 90's and early 2000s, that's all

Nah, non-Eminem fans talk about Eminem on this board more than his actual fans do.
And yes, every rapper catches hate, but it's usually when they got something out or at least in the news cycle. There will be a rash of Eminem threads every other month or so. You see people "hating" on Drake because he's poppin right now, Em is catching retro-active hate
I understand though, he's a polarizing figure, always has been, but it's a lot of revisionist history and trying to reduce his whole career to a handfull of songs that go down when he gets brought up here.
But that's what I don't get. I've tried hard to give Future and Thug chances but I just can't fathom how anyone can enjoy that trash. I don't care for Eminem either but I can see how folks would fukk with him because of his rhyming ability.
I never did. That excuse doesn't hold any weight. Justin Bieber got caught TWICE making anti-black remarks so it's obvious how he really feels.
