Why is it the Russians can develop super advanced weapons like America and nothing else?

When you look at the Russian army , they possess some of the most advanced airplanes, tanks, missiles, etc. Not even the Chinese can compete with that type of technology. So as a society the Russians are capable of developing these weapons like America yet their society outside of the army is not very rich o pared to America’s wealth and advanced technology in other non military. Why aren’t the Russians developing in other non military areas? Corruption?
Their economy is the size of Texas. Even Communist China is developing rapidly in their non military areas.

Russia has some of the best nuclear scientists in the world.
It is likely Russian weapons are far more advanced than American weapons.
When Russia has budget for weapons it goes to advanced weapons.
When U.S. has budget for weapons since the military industrial complex is so strong in America they will often get them to buy old technology. The american army even says they have a surplus of old ass equipment but they keep buying more.
Russia on the other hand does not give in to the military industrical complex(MIC) and now the russian army and navy will have lasers and hypersonic missiles.

And they have alot of heavy duty equipment.
So much that Chernobyl has seen a spike in radioactive activity, this is because of all the russian tanks it caused movement of radioactive dust in the chernobyl site.

Because that's what the Soviet Union was doing, the Soviet Union spent their entire GDP on trying to maintain dominance and one up the U.S. In a state driven economy the Soviets got to say what was produced. When it collapsed Russia SSR (when it was apart of the Soviet Union) was the most important SSR in terms of influence and governmental control (where Moscow was located) so they got the hardware, technicians, engineers and nuclear weapons after the collapse. Then Yeltsin and Putin continued with the engineering innovations.

True. Reminds me of the soviet era when their whole empire was starving but they had icbm(s) on deck. Almost like a broke, bummy dude who always got the best fit at the club.




Russian priorities as a people are very unique. However, its a functional strategy. it has preserved their national integrity and global relevance .


Also let me note that Russia is actually a world leader in the feild of chemistry, as well as in material science. Furthermore, lets not forget that they had vaccines on deck at the same time we did, meaning their bioChem is on point too. But those areas arent as sexy as internet-social-media companies in SFO.
