Why is Kofi so complacent with the midcard?

He's been in the same position for over 5 years, he's had zero character development, only has meaningless midcard title reigns on his resume, and doesn't even have a gimmick anymore. Why haven't they at least tried to turn him heel or at least give him some mic time or even just a meaningful storyline? I've heard rumors that he's getting pushed (again) but the last episode of Raw showed that he was just a temporary feud to keep Orton occupied.

At the same time, I know that the WWE has a habit of completely squashing people who get too outspoken or try to do too much for themselves so it puts Kofi in a precarious situation. But it wouldn't hurt him too much to offer a new gimmick or even suggest a possible storyline to the creative team.

Because he probably knows that some guys are just midcard guys and he can make good money doing that. Hed be fine being WWE champ but hes not a mark, and he knows hes worthy of the spot hes in and hes not going anywhere.

You have Batista back, Orton as champion and the New Age Outlaws possibly becoming the next tag champions... it's quite clear who is in charge and I doubt dude wants to do anything that could have someone be like I might be wrong but I think that shyt over there is seriously ran on some "you know your job and if we want it to be different we will tell you, don't call us we will call you". To this day I think that's Why MVP said "fukk this bullshyt" and bounced. He wanted more but knew it wasn't going to happen.

I understand, but you cannot think short term. You need to think long term. This will be Batista's last ride, Taker will be gone soon, Kane will be gone soon, Orton's shoulder issues could flare up again and John Cena will be taking more time off to save his body. Del Rio will be gone from WWE in like 3 years tops cause he is retiring. Mark Henry and Big Show are on barrow timed.

I always say, Wrestlemania 32 will be the first WrestleMania where everyone from the Attitude era is retired as well the Ruthless Aggression begins to step away.

it sucks but in this particular business what other options would someone in kofi's spot have? TNA is hanging on for dear life, The indies won't be enough to provide for his family, Japan is okay but it isnt what it used to be, plus the travel relocation and different work style. there's nowhere you can go to make the current cash he's getting now.
