Why is Kofi so complacent with the midcard?

it sucks but in this particular business what other options would someone in kofi's spot have? TNA is hanging on for dear life, The indies won't be enough to provide for his family, Japan is okay but it isnt what it used to be, plus the travel relocation and different work style. there's nowhere you can go to make the current cash he's getting now.

This really is The And There's Nothing You can Do About it era

I will say this, all the talk about what Kofi's making, do we really all know what he's being paid??

I find it funny how the common belief is that "you go to the E and everyone gets paid, the average wrestler makes $900K and the lower cards make $500k" when I'm sure it's further from the truth. People all the time prop Vince up for being a genius and if so, I don't think dude is stupid enough to pay everyone big time like that.

Now granted they are the biggest company in the industry so they due by far pay the most, it does come with a huge price (the 330 days a year to work and constant travel).

I'm sure where ever Kofi wanted to go, if it was purely about the passion of wrestling vs the money, he could go pretty much anywhere and make respectable money with less the political BS and sacrifice.

The whole TNA deal, people laugh at what they are paid but people forget and don't look at some of the other factors. These cats don't work the WWE schedule!! A cat may make let's say $85K, but if he only 100 days a year or much less since they do double tapings.... I think that's pretty decent when we have cats out here who are working 300 + days struggling to make $22k-$50k. They can just do what they do and live they lives with they fam or whatever.

The indie deal?? Maybe you're right about that, but I'm sure with his name he could make nice money on special appearances and prolly a lot of main event type shyt to basically buff up his resume and make him an even hotter commodity.

Same with Japan, though you may be right about the travel.... Mainly the distance I think. But I think he could do nicely and the style?? I think he's talented enough where he could adjust to their style, so I don't see that as a problem.

I see the points of your case, but I don't really think it's all that bleak or futile, it's just a matter of what his reason of being in this biz. If it's the money then yes, he's good where he is like anyone "going no where employer at a decent company but dead end job" ala guy who works in the mail room at GOOGLE.

But if it's not about the money and he's pretty well off, I believe he's talented enough to go wherever.

Kofi seems to be this generations Tito Santana. I really do not see what he could even DO in this generation of handcuffing guys characters. As i've said before the WWE scripting promos and handicapping guys like Zack Ryder for attempting to break out kills growth. How does he break out unless WWE CHOOSES to push him?

On a semi-related note, I love how before and after Kofi beat Orton, everybody was burying him on the mic, but the only person to defend him was, of all people, JBL.

*Before the match*
Kane: "I'ma put you in a match with Kofi Kingston so you can gon head and whoop this nikka ass real quick. :mjpls:"
King: "This is gonna be a squash. :merchant:"

*After the match*
King: "Kofi actually won? :leon:"
Cole: "This is the biggest upset ever! :ooh:"
HHH: "Damn, Randy, you actually got beat by Kofi Kingston? :heh:"
JBL: "Kofi is a ten-time champion. :what: Why y'all acting like he's JTG status? :dahell:"

I'd hope they'd have enough common sense not to do that unless he's actually gonna get a push behind it.

No one is gonna point this out? no one.....

Barrow timed is obviously a reference to people who don't have time left to "shine" in a particular entertainment industry. :ld:

It's a reference to Jamal "Shyne" Barrow who got locked up right when he was getting a buzz. :takedat:

This This This. Stone Cold once said "Why be in the business if you aren't in it to be champ"

Some people cool with just coasting unfortunately

WCW died and so did that mentality. Vince had to push Stone Cold and go with him to beat WCW even though he was originally slotted to be a solid veteran hand. Like Fif Finlay years ago or Regal. Today with no competitor, WWE slots you when they hire you and only with far outliers do they adjust it. Zack Ryder created a unique image, got better in the ring, better physique, invested in the character, got a catchphrase over himself. What happened? He can't even get on television.

Exactly . I mean even look at dbry and he's had title reigns. Plus as we've seen with Jeff hardy , mark Henry , Christian sometimes you might get a reign later in your career .
Wwe does need 2 titles . All the people complaining about the 2 titles forget all the great feuds wwe had over the big gold belt
