Why is loyalty so low these days?

I had someone tell me I fell off, ooh I needed that
And they wanna see me pick it back up, well where'd I leave it at?

Loyalty is low because social media has depersonalized social interaction. People aren't as social savy about everyday interaction, if you watch them closely you'll see. The new generation doesn't talk to each other anymore, they talk at each other. This sounds weird when I say it, but I enjoy watching people

That sounded creepy

Too many people get "bored" too quickly. Gotta have the latest phone, latest car, be on top of the latest app, latest dance, new hot song. Same thing can be said with relationships, smash a few times see someone new then :ehh: move on to the next

this is my opinion- it started when companies/people started mixing market norms (transactional stuff, quid pro quo) with social capital (which includes "loyalty" amongst other things)

a people a few years older than me were told- "you have a job for life with [company]"
then when the chips are down, and people were at their most vulnerable, they got laid off
or it could be a promise between people- like marriage (or other examples where someone sacrificed first and then were not reciprocated)

people get bitter and turn it 180 the other way- now everyone is out for themselves
and when a person or a company tries to invoke a word like "loyalty" -
other people are reminded of the past burns and get mad

i could only suggest that people learn to trust again- or rather, "trust but verify" which means saving your loyalty for when it's deserved

This right here. Especially with jobs, can't trust 'em. Couldn't trust em then, can't trust em now. Let alone friends, family and S/O's.
Problem is you gotta risk gettin' hurt to find out, no matter how long or short it takes. May work out, may not, but that's life.

Is it the ease of getting some?
Media influence?
Speak on it:leostare:

As times get tougher, people get colder and more displaced from reality and the principle of compassion and morals decrease rapidly.

Dog eat dog... Every man for himself... Etc.. shyt is manifesting right before our eyes....

And this is not simply an opinion, because its documented fact that "millennials", or ppl born between early 80s to early 90s, have it harder than previous generations... (Google millennials, check Forbes.com)

Its simply the world we live in now. Learn to adjust to it and don't stray from your own principles and you'll be aight.
