He’s been one of the primary victims of the “Kendrick Lamar is the greatest human to have ever lived” campaign being pushed by the machine…as Nas’ traditional spot as “best mainstream lyricist” has been wrestled away and he doesn’t have the commercial and impact bonafides as some of the others on the list…Nas has also had a contentious relationship with the hip hop media/critic class post-Illmatic, as opposed to the “everything he puts out is perfect and brilliant, can we invent some more awards that don’t exist to give him because the current ones aren’t suffice” thing Kenny has going

The only people that hate on Nas are haters. But other than that son gets love damn near universally. He tupucally hovers from 3-5 on top 5 lists although I rarely see him at number 5. Any list that puts Kendrick above him I completely disregard all around tho. I don’t give a fukk what else is going on with the list at that point. I don’t give a fukk if they said Kendrick is 1a and Nas is 1b. Forcing this nikka in these top 5s is annoying af.

There has always been a weird Anti-Nas faction in Hip Hop since his debut. He was as Ghostface said The Golden Child, signed to Columbia directly at 17 etc.........

Yeah, I think Nas is the best and I think his legacy is improving as time goes on. Seems he is getting more props now than ever.
He's not underrated, you got a large contingency that says he's the best.
