I didn’t see Paddington 1 (no kids, I’m grown etc. lol) but someone I work with, grown ass man, in his 60s who used to work in the business told me this is the best movie he watched all year.
I looked at him like
and all he said was “watch it. You’ll struggle to see a better, singularly focused piece of joy and storytelling all year”
This is a dude who is the most knowledgable film head I’ve ever met and his taste is impeccable.
Guess I’ll be watching this eventually

It sadly only made $10 mil this weekend domestically for 7th place.
Though it did make $125 overseas as it opened there in November.
This movie deserves better though so I hope it has some legs in the states.
That is sad.
My theater was packed today so maybe it does have some legs. It's got great reviews everywhere so hopefully more people check it out. I'm rooting for this one and I rarely care about movies much
