Why is rap the only genre of music where the artists openly and blatantly disrespect the art form?

Somewhere along the line we've allowed fans and outsiders both treat Hip Hop like it's a fad or a part of a bigger scheme to make money. Then let the outsiders dictate what's cool and what isnt. Just look at the amount of casual Hip Hop/Drake fans that tried to tell everybody else how rap battles should go, for example.

There's more people making rap music as a hustle rather than having genuine love for it. Then look down on it once they've reached their goals.

There were rock bands that were making music about only caring about money, women, parties and drugs and would clown purist and openely say they were in it for the money and didn't give a fukk if it made the trained musicians mad.

Other genres do it too. We just don't see it because rap is what we tend to follow. Artists in other genres who play instruments will look down on and stunt on artists who don't. "Yeah, they can sing and dance, but can they play" or "Put me in a room by myself and I can walk out with a song. They have a pretty voice, but they need other people to make songs for them." People that write do this too.
