That makes no sense. People in school always seemed like real idiots to me, no one ever powered their brain to think this person is quiet because they find everyone else boring, lame or corny? Or some just like the peace and quiet.

I think people who say things like about quiet people are just trying to deflect or find something wrong with someone for simply not fukking with them, kind of funny.
I think people focus on the quiet ones in the group because well they’re quiet and because it’s not the norm and people automatically think something is off with them.

I completely agree that this is not always the case, just a saying we used to have .

Some people have social anxiety, some are more intelligent than their peers or maybe something is going on in their life that is on their mind.

They have to self reflect instead of responding to what you said

If there capable of that.

Silence is that unknown factor, whats this person thinking or going to do next.

Next time end a argument with a smile and say "we will see".

And depending on the person, adding that smile is enough to push people into going off.

I do it now just to see what type of person I’m dealing with

you're in an argument?

"Okay. :yeshrug:"

YOU WIN
Come on Nikka......did you get the perspective? Its not about being in an argument. Even when you are hanging with a large group.......people pay attention to the quiet guy in the group. Kiss ass and ask if he is alright. Listen more and talk less, Breh
I misunderstood then, I was focusing on silence in an argument. I think silence speaks louder than words in any situation because you never know what someone is thinking, we used to have a saying in school, don’t fuk with the quiet ones

Some people are just naturally quiet just scoping out the scene learning peoples personalities, being around talkative people stresses me out sometimes

An empty wagon makes a lot of noise

:picard:wait, @Pseudonym which one of us is he talking to?

Let's both shut up. :yeshrug:

Again why should you care if they don't have any power over you? Clearly the more up set person has lost their position since anger clouds judgment and their in "survival mode" Silence is formidable weapon in controlling a situation, since you never let you're position be known openly.

Where It’s Not Safe
I am a strong believer on 48 laws of power. The 4th law of power; Always say less than necessary.
For the coli Christians or for anyone thats a big fan of the book of proverbs.......King Solomon always emphasizes that a talkative tongue is a very destructive weapon.

Learned this years ago:wow:

I might be chewing on my teeth with this thought but its something I have observed for quite sometime......"Why is silence so powerful?"

When I get into an argument with someone and I reply with a repetitive and belligerent anger of words....it never settles the argument nor does it create the peace. Although, when I listen to the person and I don't reply with a single word and I walk away.....you can feel the shift of their body language; they kiss ass and most likely they apologize even if you were the one that was on the wrong side of the spectrum.

Why is silence so powerful?

Why is silence so loud?

being silent is also hard to do
when your mind is coming up with a million and one things to say, nothing is the hardest option
i also noticed this isn't limited to arguments. Purposefully choosing to wait before speaking gets people's ears perked for what you're gonna say
